East London-born DJ and artist Deep London, now based in Johannesburg, is proving that talent, determination and consistency can turn dreams into reality. Deep London began his musical journey in 2012, working as a barman at Elounge near ABSA Stadium in East London. He would take the opportunity to play music whenever a DJ was unavailable. What started as a small opportunity eventually became a successful music career.
In 2023, he reached a major milestone by winning two Metro FM Awards. He is also known for the hit song “Hamba Wena”, featuring Boohle, which helped establish his name among music lovers. “I think music to me is a calling because I always dreamed of being a superstar,” he said.
His journey has taught him an important lesson: humility and respect are essential in the entertainment industry. “You must remain humble because you are only as good as your last appearance. Respect people regardless of their status in life,” he added.
A talented independent artist has worked with artists such Nkosazana Daughter and Boohle and is preparing to release an EP in October featuring several upcoming artists from the Eastern Cape.
His message to young people is clear: never limit your dreams because of where you come from. “Anything is possible. It’s not about your background; it’s all in your mind. Never limit your dreams.”
He also thanked his supporters for their continued love and patience, saying his music is intended to bring healing and inspiration. Follow Deep London Instagram: @realdeeplondon Facebook: Deep London TikTok: @realdeeplondon Bookings: 074 639 9614
